Hello all. I have not written a post in awhile and would like to include a short list of my favorite and recommended reiki books. This list will continue to grow over time and learning from others recommendations is always a big contributor to this list.
- Pocket Guide to Chakras by Joy Gardner
- Empowerment Through Reiki: The Path to Personal and Global Transformation by Paula Horan
Looking forward to reading more about Reiki books and adding to this list.

GlobalHeal is happy to share its own Reiki documents and information with you, whether you are a Reiki master, a student or working on a research paper. We believe that information should be public and not held from us, especially for profit as some old-school business men still think and live in the far past.

Reiki 3 is the last course in the official study of Reiki. It may be separated into two courses or may be combined, depending on the teacher. This course focuses mainly on advanced reiki with teaching and attunement elements, utilizing two new symbols. In order to begin the Reiki 3 course you must be able to find a teacher that fits your learning style and must have completed Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 at least one year prior.

Reiki 2 is the second course level of Reiki. A typical Reiki 2 course lasts 2-3 days and the main focus of this course is to move one step forward with Reiki energy utilizing the assistance of 3 sacred symbols. The three healing symbols help magnify the healing energy as well as provide an additional focus on the etheric body of energy, sending love and intention to more than the physical body, transcending time and space.
Reiki one must be completed before continuing to level 2 and a lengthened familiarity should be acquired with the practice of level 1. Every level of Reiki includes a great deal of sharing and Q&A.
The 3 symbols of Reiki 2 are:
cho ku rei – the power symbol enabling a strengthened energy sending in addition to usage as a protection symbol
se hei ki – the emotional balance symbol
hon sha ze sho nen – the distant healing symbol transcending time and space
Depending on your Reiki teacher, many different exercises will be taught including mental and behavioral, goal achievement, chakra blockage openings and distant exercises. The list can go on and on.
Reiki level II generally includes 2 attunements.
* Because Reiki is such a powerful experience and gift, it is recommended to choose your teacher from you intuition and feel the course.

Reiki 1 is a beginner course varying from a one day session to 3 or 4 days (I would recommend the longer courses) and is an introduction to the beautiful world of hands-on healing. Many students learning Reiki 1 experience major changes in spiritual understanding and being one within universe. Typically a Reiki I course begins with an introduction of what is reiki. In addition to explaining more about Reiki, the course follows by an introduction or discussion about chakras and energy and the importance of balanced flow of energy with Reiki’s balancing and harmonizing aspects of healing the physical, emotional and spiritual.
